Acts 20-21
In these chapters we find Paul making his way back to Jerusalem. Along the way, he takes the opportunity to encourage the believers he has had the opportunity to minister to. Paul is constantly warned of his fate if he goes to Jerusalem, but he remains determined. And after going to Jerusalem, he is mobbed in the temple, beaten, and arrested.
Paul’s words of encouragement to the Ephesians elders are just as important for us today. We need to remember to be on guard for our own faith, making sure it is solid. Then, we also need to look out for our brother and sister to make sure they are not being deceived by false teachers. This is particularly true for those who are leaders in the church, but we should all have such care for one another.
