Leviticus 26
In God’s kingdom there are blessings for obedience and consequences for disobedience. Leviticus 26 outlines the results of both for the Israelites. They can expect blessing and prosperity if they obey the Lord and follow his commands. Yet, if they disobey, they can expect God’s hand of judgment to continue until they repent and break their pride. But, even in all of this, there is grace. God will never completely destroy them because of their disobedience. He will fulfill his word and promises.
Another thing we see is this: sin is not individual. Sin affects more than just the guilty party. It permeates and affects everyone around, even future generations. God says that future generations will experience the consequences for sin until there is repentance. The same holds true today. Remember that your sin is not just your own.
Kingdom citizens obey the king’s rules.
