F260 Day 159: Matthew 7

F260 Day 159: Matthew 7

Matthew 7

Jesus ends his sermon with a discourse on human relationships. We need to be mindful of how we treat others and examine our own lives before we judge. The sermon ends with an explanation on who will enter God’s kingdom. It requires taking the narrow path and walking in obedience to the will of God. Those who do this will enter the kingdom.

Jesus makes it clear that not everyone who lives an outwardly “religious” life will find the kingdom. It is not doing the things that merely look right, but listening to and doing what God commands. Religious activities alone do not save, but should be a result of living a godly life. This kind of life takes, first, knowing God’s commands before living them out. When we do that, we can know we are citizens of the kingdom.

Are you walking the narrow path?
